History of HoPALoNG
HoPALoNG was established in 1996 and provides quality, individualised Occupational Therapy (OT), Assessment & Intervention to local people at our Peakhurst & Croydon Centres in Sydney.
HoPALoNG therapists will travel to your child’s school, preschool or home.
Our therapists are trained to provide specific intervention and home programs for children with Sensory Modulation Disorders, ASD, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays and Learning Difficulties.
What happens at HoPALoNG?
At HoPALoNG we talk with you and assess the needs of your child. HoPALoNG Occupational Therapists use fun, play-based activities and age appropriate, standardised assessments.
HoPALoNG Therapists work with parents, carers, teachers and other professionals when setting goals for your child, to provide relevant parent & teacher information, advice & recommendations.
We also;
- Provide a written summary and detailed reports
- Allow trials and organise purchase of therapy equipment (e.g. pencil grips, sloping boards and movement cushions)
- Develop individualised therapy programs in conjunction with the child, parent & teachers, paediatricians, speech therapists and other health professionals
- Specialise each child’s individualised program to consider their strengths and interests to ensure goals can be achieved
- Offer ongoing reviews and follow up appointments

Why come to HoPALoNG? At HoPALoNG we make Occupational Therapy fun! Through enjoyable activities and positive interaction our Occupational Therapists (OT’s) skilfully guide your child through a process of discovering how their body works and what it can do!
At HoPALoNG Occupational Therapy for Children we target your child’s formal goals, such as social skills, handwriting or learning how to concentrate.
HoPALoNG combines therapeutic techniques with a specialised Occupational Therapy Intervention Program. Integrating our Sensory Integration equipped Centres into your child’s individual Therapy Intervention you will see them start to use new skills in the real world to target realistic goals relating to your child’s needs. This opens up opportunities to develop further skills, confidence and success for your child to meet life’s challenges!
